Not knowing if her love was ever enough for him.

The likable tune possesses thudding drums, groovy bass, and guitar-laced instrumentation flavored with an electro-pop vibration. “‘What You Want’ is about being with someone who doesn’t know what they want. When I wrote this song, I was thinking about one of my past encounters in my past relationship and how everything came about in the process of us breaking up. In terms of that, I felt like when you’re in a relationship with someone they tend to create a fictional character of you in their head, and in reality, it just isn’t you. It is somebody who they imagine you to be either in a fairy tale or in the near future. They are not thinking about who and or how you are in the present and that’s how I came to the conclusion of writing ‘What You Want.’ By realizing some people really don’t know how to accept others for themselves in the present rather than having a fantasy of how or what they could to them, in the near future.” – Alena Ciera explained
Alena Ciera has collaborated and played for David Byrne’s American Utopia, Yolanda Adams, Cee Lo Green, and Beladona. She has performed at The St. James Theater on Broadway, Birdland, Snally Gaster Festival, The National Stadium, the Eagle Arena, the Capitol Jazz Cruise, and many more.
