Joël is a singer-songwriter and dancer from Toronto, Canada. Not too long ago, he released a boomin’ alternative R&B tune, entitled, “Type”.

Joël – “Type” single

“I’m not really into small talk these days or relationships, and I’m super focused and hungry. ‘Type’ is about dodging heartbreak before it hits you. Not gonna let you give me reasons to go turn the other cheek. I meant that. Also, ‘Type’ is all about knowing who you are and what you want. It’s about being confident and not taking bulls**t.” – Joël

Joël’s music can be viewed from the lens of a young black man who is temporarily trapped in the suburbs with no obvious way out.

But he’s focused on success and doesn’t acknowledge anything other than prosperity.

‘Type’ contains a relatable storyline, melodic vocals, and vibey instrumentation flavored with hip-hop, trap, and alternative-soul elements.
