EMMA SEE Faces Heartbreak in New Single “To Myself”

Danish pop artist EMMA SEE (@emmaseebaby) returns with “To Myself,” a reflective single about the tension between holding onto love and choosing your own path. Tender yet resolute, the track captures the heartache of knowing that sometimes the hardest choice is the right one.

To Myself

At its core, “To Myself” explores the dilemma of wanting to stay with someone you care for but realizing that walking away is the healthier way forward. Built around an aching chorus first written in Copenhagen, the song came together across continents, with fragments of the song carried from Denmark to New York to Los Angeles. After reworking it countless times, EMMA completed the track during an unexpected day off in LA, demoing it alone in her room before sending it to producer Jomo Kru, who brought the final version to life. The song was finished with newly recorded vocals in London, adding the last layer of intimacy to the journey.

In her own words, EMMA SEE explains, “‘To Myself’ is about being in a relationship and wanting to be with that person more than ever – but knowing you need to save you both by letting go. Sometimes you have to choose yourself, even if it feels selfish. In your twenties, especially for me at least, learning how to be alone and focusing on yourself can be the best way to grow – and eventually love someone better.”

Overall, “To Myself” showcases EMMA’s gift for crafting music that feels both personal and universal – pop songs that lean into vulnerability while offering clarity. It follows her single “Like That,” and serves as another glimpse into her upcoming debut EP, due early next year. The project reflects on movement, growth, and belonging.

About EMMA SEE

Raised in rural West Zealand by a bronze caster and a painter, EMMA SEE began her musical journey in her father’s shed-turned-DIY-studio at the age of 7. Since then, she has written music for the BBC’s Doctor Who, composed for Danish transport company Movia, and taken part in writing camps across Europe.

Her work has already gained support from Spotify’s New Music Friday, BBC Introducing, with airplay on Denmark’s P3, and features on Apple Music’s New Music Daily and YouSee Music’s New Releases. Recent live shows in both London and Copenhagen have further established her as an artist to watch.

With comparisons to Gracie Abrams, Lorde, and Holly Humberstone, EMMA SEE continues to carve out a sonic world where vulnerability and atmosphere intertwine. “To Myself” is a poignant step forward – a song about endings, beginnings, and the courage to choose yourself.
