The enticing video, filmed in Jamaica before Hurricane Melissa, delivers a message supporting the people and communities affected, where rising artist Stalk Ashely is from. It not only shows the vibrancy of the island, but also the three artists’ chemistry.

Harnessed with a hip-moving production from Crumz [Krept & Konan, Tion Wayne, Swarmz, Tinie Tempah, Mr Eazi, Big Shaq], KiDi opens the track with his signature silky vocals and infectious melodies. Detailing a night of passion with a fellow love interest, KiDi’s artistry is swiftly complemented by Stalk Ashley’s slick penmanship, offering the woman’s perspective. Laced with buttery harmonies, “Heat” is the ultimate sultry anthem that instantly commands your attention. As we continue to embrace the summer months, KJ Spio reiterates his trailblazing status with yet another irresistible spin.

When asked how the single came about KJ Spio stated, “KiDi and myself have been working on several records together in the studio in search of a new sound which fuses classic Ghana highlife music with R&B. Through the process we came up with a few records including ‘HEAT,’ I tried several vocalist’s on the feature but Stalk Ashley, someone I always wanted to work with, came up with the sweetest melodies and vocals.”

About KJ Spio

Acclaimed culturepreneur KJ Spio is a one-man mood enhancer – a musical multi-hyphenate devoted to upping the ambiance of whatever social situation you might find yourself in. “I’m all about creating a vibe that helps people have fun and enjoy themselves, whether they’re at a party or somewhere more intimate,” smiles the Ghana-born artist.

“Wait,” you might be wondering: “What’s a culturepreneur”? For Spio, the term reflects the ever-changing role he’s held down in the UK and African music industries for almost a decade now, pushing the culture forward in whatever new and exciting ways he can dream up. Sometimes, that has meant managing artists like the late great British talent Cadet, whose single ‘Advice’ he helped become a platinum smash independently with over 250 million streams.

Other times, that has meant creative-directing and A&R for superstars like Ghanaian icon Sarkodie, whose first-ever virtual concert, performing at the country’s historic Independence Square, broke records for live streams. Genre doesn’t matter – only authenticity. “If it’s not progressive to the collective culture, I don’t do it,” insists KJ Spio, who began his journey in the music industry as road manager-turned-content creator for UK rap hero Big Narstie and hasn’t stopped hustling for the music scene he adores since.

KiDi has received several nominations for awards across and beyond Ghana. He won the ‘Highlife Song of the Year Award for “Odo” at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards, ‘Male Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2019 Awards, ‘Album of the Year’ for his debut album “Sugar” at the 2020 Awards, and the 2020 ‘Artist of the Year’ at Ghana’s 3Music Awards.
