Cecilia Kallin is a Stockholm-based singer-songwriter and modeling globetrotter from the countryside outside the town of Falköping, Sweden. Not too long ago, she released a delightful music video for her “Heaven” single.
Cecilia Kallin – “Heaven” music video
“Yeah, I’ve been working nine-to-five, and all day long you’ve been on my mind. Walking home, you pass me by. The only word we ever say is, ‘Hi’. And I know it’s kinda mad, I can’t deny. My-oh-my, can’t hide, you got me living in heaven.” – lyrics
‘Heaven’ tells an adorable tale of a woman who has a crush on an individual who recently moved across the street from her. Apparently, she doesn’t know this person’s name or what they do for a living. What she knows is she’s attracted to this person. Later, she admits that she makes up errands just to run into her potential partner.
‘Heaven’ contains a dreamy storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and ‘90s-inspired influences (e.g., Lene Marlin, Natalie Imbruglia). Also, the feel-good tune possesses guitar-driven instrumentation scented with a flowery indie-pop aroma. Furthermore, “Heaven” is the lead single from Cecilia Kallin’s upcoming EP, and the music video was shot in the streets of Paris by photographer Caroline Korenado.
“‘Heaven’ is a feel-good pop song about having a crush on someone from a distance. I think most people can relate to the feeling of falling in love with someone without actually knowing them yet. It’s indeed a wonderful, yet confusing state of mind, and I’ve tried to put it down in words.” – Cecilia Kallin
Cecilia Kallin started her career as the lead singer and guitarist of the girl band, Timoteij (well-known in Sweden for their characteristic mix of pop and folk music). Since then, she has performed in Sweden’s biggest TV show—Melodifestivalen, her “Kom” single has amassed over 12 million streams online, and she has 15 major national tours to her name.
In 2018, she launched her solo career. Shortly afterward, her “Play Pretend” single amassed over one million streams online via Spotify. In 2019, she teamed up with Bobby Ljunggren and David Lindgren Zacharias (both recognized and awarded songwriters), and “Heaven” is their first release together.
