The Runarounds, one of the hottest new bands, recently released a brand new single, “Chasing The Good Times” (via AWAL). The song was co-written & produced by Brad Shultz (founding member and guitarist for Cage The Elephant) and mixed by Rich Costey (Foo Fighters, Sigur Rós, Muse, HAIM). The track is nostalgic, anthemic indie rock at its best. Think pop-punk energy with the DNA of a small-town garage band. The music video was shot during their latest Minivan tour at one of their sold-out shows.

On the new single, Axel Ellis (guitarist & vocals) said: “Joy is fleeting. What’s that Ferris Bueller quote? ‘Life moves quickly; if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it.’ That’s the feeling we hoped to convey with ‘Chasing The Good Times.’ It’s about the never-ending pursuit of happiness and how it could pass you by if you’re looking too hard for it. Next time you find yourself dancing in the dark, try to soak it in as much as you can; it doesn’t get much better than that. We were honored to be able to write this one with our friend Brad Shultz of Cage the Elephant, one of our collective long-time heroes.”
Brad Schultz of Cage The Elephant said of working with the band: “Starting a creative process, I try not to go in with an expectation of easy success. However, within the first hour of the writing/recording of this song, I knew something special was in the works. I loved the genuine excitement and enjoyment that the band brought to the studio. It was refreshing to see that energy and enthusiasm.”
About The Runarounds

What began as a weekly beach bar residency in Wilmington, North Carolina, soon turned into a coast-to-coast journey, as the band cut their teeth on college campuses, festival stages, and club venues across the country — culminating in a sold-out night at the storied Troubadour in Los Angeles.
Coming off of their Amazon Prime show (of the same name), the band has been touring on the music they wrote for the series soundtrack, all of which was recorded live on set. Their sold-out fall tour had fans lining up at 9 am each morning for a chance to get day-of-show tickets- or even just a glimpse of the real-life band from their favorite show.
Due to unprecedented demand, the band announced an extension of the fall 2025 Minivan Tour with 32 new dates added for the 2026 leg of the tour. Most of the shows in the new leg have already sold out, with over 40,000 tickets already sold, and many venues upgraded to larger rooms. The band will be performing at LA’s The Fonda on January 23rd, Chicago’s Riviera Theatre on February 10th, New York’s Irving Plaza on February 18th & 19th, D.C.’s 9:30 Club on February 20th, and Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on February 28th and March 1st. See ticket information at therunarounds.com and buy tickets at StubHub.com.

The band’s first EP, “The Runarounds Live at USC,” was produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads. Inspired by Back Seat Lovers (whose song “Kilby Girl” they cover frequently!), The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and more, The Runarounds wrote or co-wrote all of their music featured in the show that served as their first album, The Runarounds (Original Soundtrack).
The album features singles “Senior Year” and “Funny How The Universe Works” as well as fan favorite “Ghosts.” Not to mention it features covers of the Zutons’ “Valerie” (notably performed by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson and Cheap Trick’s “Surrender.”
About The Runarounds

The Runarounds are William Lipton (guitar/vocals), Axel Ellis (guitar, vocals), Jesse Golliher (bass/vocals), Zende Murdock (drums), and Jeremy YUN (guitar/vocals). They have taken their talents to the road on a sold-out, headline fall tour since the show’s premiere on September 1st, and they have no signs of slowing down. The band is a group of musicians who learned how to act with the goal of writing real songs that change the world – a few of them grew up performing together since they were as little as six years old!
