“If (A Better World)” aims to bring dancefloors together this summer with its feel-good energy and hopeful lyrics, and is complete with replayed instruments and new vocals inspired by Jackie Moore’s joyful ‘70s hit. Full of soul and a nu-disco feel, the single also acts as a full circle moment for David and Cedric, taking inspiration from their early disco DJ sets in the underground clubs of Paris and Marseille.
Speaking on the record, Cedric Gervais explains, “I’m very proud of this record we did with David. It comes back to our musical roots—being French, I grew up with French house: DJ Falcon, Cassius, Daft Punk, and many more incredible artists. That’s what we wanted to do with this record: bring back that sound!”
“If (A Better World)” unites David and Cedric once more after their 2016 collaboration “Would I Lie to You,” which now sits at a staggering 500M streams. Last year, they joined forces again on the huge Spinnin’ Records single, “Switch.”
