Kabusa Oriental Choir was created by Austin Chinemezu Nwamara, the Choir Director, on the 11th of March 2019 when he published their first content which was a choir cover mashup of Kizz Daniel’s song “Yeba” and DJ Spinal’s song “Baba.” The cover went viral on the internet and launched the choir into the limelight.

Over the years, Kabusa Oriental Choir has evolved from just creating choir covers of popular songs to creating original songs; one of which is “The Corona Song,” written by Austin Chinemezu Nwamara to spread more information on the coronavirus in the wake of the Pandemic in 2020.

Also, in February 2020, Kabusa Oriental Choir released a song for Valentine’s Day called “Valentine is Coming,” which shot them to global limelight and remains their biggest standing hit song, which gained wide recognition, especially in the United Kingdom where it was feature on BBC 1XTRA RADIO in 2019 during the Valentine week. The Choir has made it a tradition to release new verses to the song every year.
