Discover the Flirtatious Energy of Taura Lamb’s “Cravings” Song

Taura Lamb (@taura_lamb) is a Birmingham-raised, London-based musician. Not too long ago, she released the third installment of her ambitious four-part Moods project with the “Sultry” EP, featuring brand new single “Cravings,” an energetic collaboration with rising producer Chelsea Warner (Kid Cudi, Lil Durk, Yerin).

Breaking free from slow-jam conventions, “Cravings” pulses with flirtatious energy and relentless drive, capturing the breathless anticipation of desire rather than merely its aftermath. “My fiancé was away for 9 weeks,” Lamb reveals, “and ‘Cravings’ is really about that buzz of anticipation—missing someone so much it throws you straight back into the honeymoon phase. Even after so many years together, those reunions feel brand new.”

Showcasing her exceptional vocal artistry with Ariana Grande-inspired flourishes that take this release to extraordinary heights, Lamb’s impressive range—from rich lower tones to crystalline top notes—creates the perfect counterpoint to the hypnotic, pulse-quickening production. Imagine the bold assertiveness of Tate McRae‘s “Greedy” meeting the seductive swagger of Justin Timberlake‘s “SexyBack” resulting in a confident anthem that reveals an electrifying new dimension to Lamb’s sonic universe.

Following the already-released installments “Tetchy” and “Teary,” “Sultry” arrives with sensual bedroom jams that showcase Taura Lamb’s songwriting and vocal expertise against Warner’s playful production prowess. Across three meticulously crafted tracks, she delivers a captivating exploration of passion, longing, and intimacy.

The previously released singles “Still” and “Video Calls” established the collection’s sensual foundation, effortlessly fusing languid R&B textures with contemporary pop sensibilities. However, it’s the EP’s crown jewel— “Cravings”—that truly establishes this installment’s emotional core.

“I actually had a different, much slower track in place for the final track of Sultry,” Lamb explains, “but something didn’t feel quite right. After screaming SexyBack at a JT show, I realized I wanted it to be sexy but still bring the energy. The other two songs on the EP are more classic, smooth slow-jams, so I knew I needed a contrast.”

Throughout “Sultry,” Lamb’s diverse influences converge into something distinctively her own. The clever wordplay of BANKS and Sabrina Carpenter, FLO’s lush harmonies, and the sensual approaches of Sabrina Claudio and Victoria Monet blend seamlessly within her sonic landscape. Yet the result stands apart—a testament to Lamb’s artistic vision that both honors her influences and pushes genre boundaries.

The Moods collection represents a revolutionary approach to music consumption, with each EP capturing a distinct emotional state. From the angst of “Tetchy” to the vulnerability of “Teary” and now the passion of “Sultry,” the project’s innovative concept includes mood-specific visualizers directed by Will Warr, creating a multi-sensory experience that brings each emotional state to life. “Sultry” arrives with a warm red and pink color palette and atmosphere that perfectly complements the EP’s seductive soundscape.

Taura Lamb first honed her craft in Birmingham choirs and was heavily influenced by her grandfather, who played clarinet in jazz bands across Birmingham well into his ‘80s. These early experiences shaped her understanding of harmony and vocal arrangement, which have become hallmarks of her sound.

After moving to London at 18 to study music at Goldsmiths, Lamb built a solid fan base performing at venues like Camden Assembly, Dingwalls, Hootananny, and Cross the Tracks. Her previous project ‘Revisions’ quickly gained support from BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, and landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and Apple Music’s New Music Daily. Lamb’s “Talk” single exploded on TikTok with over 47 million views, while her creative series flipping ’90s TV show themes into club-ready hits earned over 5 million views across social platforms.

With “Sultry,” Lamb continues her ascent in the music industry, offering listeners an organized approach to emotional expression through carefully curated sounds that feel both deeply personal and universally relatable. The final and upcoming “Sunny” EP will complete Moods as a fully realized concept on June 6th. To celebrate the release, Taura Lamb will appear at this year’s Cross The Tracks Festival on May 25th alongside DARGZ.
