“It takes a village to raise a child. My village has been my partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America here on the Gulf Coast, Gaither Music, Primary Wave, and our Military Support with Master Sergeant Tarissa Brown. I’d also like to thank the artists who lent their talent to give these kids their first hit record. Thanks to Estelle, MC Lyte, Saint Ashleey, Sylenna Johnson, and Ann Nesby for not only being a beacon of hope for the youth but giving them a reason to dance during a time of concern all over the world. When quarantine is over, we’re doing an official video with us all; till then make the most of those moments at home. Dance!” – Sir the Baptist

As the world moves together through the challenges and social distancing of coronavirus quarantine, Sir the Baptist teams up with Gaither Music Group/Primary Wave Music Publishing to lift fans up with an explosive hip-hop/gospel anthem.

The playful music video finds Sir The Baptist hanging out in his robe and slippers, hopping on a tractor for a ride, and dropping rhymes at the local fairgrounds. The video serves as an inspiration to bring people together during isolation, challenging them to be part of a global dance party via social media sites like TikTok.

“Musical study develops critical thinking, self-discipline, self-esteem, self-confidence, and teamwork. All of these things are important to our organization and what we do for kids. The collaboration with Sir the Baptist and Gaither Music Group has already started helping us create pathways for young people in traditionally underrepresented communities to express themselves in healthy ways.” – stated Keva Scott, ED.S, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America

‘Can’t Help Myself’ was released in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The organization offers safer childhoods, life-enhancing programs, and caring mentors in order to help youth excel in school and lead healthy, productive lives.

“This opportunity with Sir the Baptist is why I choose to be a volunteer leader with this organization. This is one of those life-changing occasions for our youth. I’m excited to see the next superstar birth from this project.” – stated Carlos Bell, the Corporate Board Chairman for the organization the Boys & Girls Clubs of America

“I will be the bridge for those who support Gospel and those just getting started. I want to reach someone who maybe has just gotten to know God. Or got introduced to God and decided, ‘Hey, you know what, I want to get to know this guy and figure out who God really is to me.’ So it’s a balance of that. I have a broad vision. My steps are ordered by what God wants me to do in this culture. I would love to build a community of believers that will reshape what the art of the church looks like. What the imagery of Christianity is in the world.” – Sir The Baptist

Sir the Baptist has long had a love for the southern gospel and hip-hop music. A natural storyteller through song, he has quickly become the shepherd of a brand-new era of global gospel music. So far, he has amassed over 20 million streams online and has been praised by Forbes, JAY-Z, CNN, and NPR. Also, he has toured internationally with Mary J. Blige, Nelly, and August Alsina. Plus, he has performed at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and has opened for Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and Lauryn Hill.

“I wanted to do something unique that no one else has done. I want to reach all ages. Be able to pull everyone in one, my mom, my dad, and the older crowd and introduce them to new sounds… We need to be uplifted in a way that translates to fun. Let’s dance and enjoy each other. Have a moment of fun while we’re [at home] together. While we are all in quarantine, I hope this song brings families (and people) to value these moments together.” – Sir The Baptist
