“My earliest memory is around music. I’ve always had music around. My dad did music before me, and he inspired me because he always made sure there was music in my ear. Seeing him write and seeing him perform made me know that I could do that too. I think he kind of always knew that I was going to be an artist. He was planting seeds.” – Ru: explained

Ru: grew up around music as both her parents are from Caribbean islands and her father was an artist. She first played the guitar at the age of seven but quickly lost interest, only for the instrument to make a comeback at 12 years old. From that age on, Ru, her pen, and her guitar have been inseparable.
