“Ride or Die Chick” takes listeners on a journey filled with raw emotions and real-life experiences. The lyrics encapsulate the complexities of relationships, showcasing the highs and lows that define them. It’s a heartfelt tribute to that one person who stands by you, irrespective of the mistakes you make.

The line, “I’ll be there for you if you’ll be there for me,” resonates deeply, highlighting an unspoken pact often found in significant relationships. Despite facing various challenges, the commitment to remain devoted shines through. Here, you get a glimpse of two imperfect souls navigating their unique problems, which feel all too relatable. After all, no relationship is without its fair share of long nights and even longer fights.

“Ride or Die Chick” humorously tackles the often awkward realities of life and love. Lines like, “Nothing wrong with getting laid, everybody knows it, ’cause that’s how babies are made,” remind us that amidst the chaos, life goes on. As the singer candidly admits, “Two babies, two ladies, oh man, what I mess I made,” there’s an acknowledgment of the rollercoaster ride relationships can be. Yet, there’s a comforting assurance that future potential lies within these complicated dynamics.

Overall, “Ride or Die Chick” details a heartfelt portrayal of a relationship where love and understanding prevail. So, whether you’re in the depths of your own long fight or simply vibing to possibilities, this track serves as a witty reminder of love’s complexities.

The Chorus of “Ride or Die Chick” was written on the beaches of Mexico after late-night jams at Slightly Stoopid’s Closer to the Sun festival. During the pandemic – touring came to a halt and Brett Wilson – dug for gold – gathered all of his ideas on his hard drive and collaborated with a decade’s worth of friends. Eventually, this particular song caught the ears of hit-making production duo – Left Coast (“Jungle Beat” Josh and David Foral of The Dirty Heads who have worked with Sublime, Pepper, Wiz Khalifa & more) as well as long-time tourmates and friends Greg Shields of Kash’d Out who co-wrote and who contributed a verse and harmonies to the track.
