Porteous is an up-and-coming London-based singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Colchester in Essex. Not too long ago, he released a music video for his debut single, entitled, “Vibe with You”.

“I wrote this song, originally, as a simple love song but turned it into something a bit more meaningful as I revised the lyrics. I don’t think it’s just about love in a romantic sense. It’s about getting together with other people in the world and saying, ‘Yeah, times can be tough but let’s hang out, get groovin’, and try to forget about it all!” – Porteous
‘Vibe with You’ contains a relatable storyline and pleasant vocals. Also, the likable tune possesses lush instrumentation flavored with indie rock, commercial pop, and funk elements.

“The song gets pretty deep in the verses and demonstrates some of the doubts I’ve experienced more personally. Being told to get a proper job—‘Is it so wrong to hope and dream?’. Also, struggling to be happy or have ambition in an environment that can be so uninspiring—‘No ambience it kills me too’. I like to write my lyrics with meaning but also keep them relatively abstract and open to interpretation from person to person. I think you can take what you want from this song; it can be a love song and a song of hope.” – Porteous
Porteous’ musical influences include Rakei, Radiohead, and Foals.
He has played in a number of projects as a drummer and keys player.
Not too long ago, he played at festivals such as SXSW (2019) and Latitude (2018) with Sam Eagle.
