“Run” seamlessly switches between German and English lyrics, incorporating a spoken-word guest vocal in French. This linguistic fluidity underscores Molly’s belief that the sound and delivery of words matter as much as their literal meaning, creating an immersive, almost cinematic listening experience. The song’s core theme revolves around the futility of evasion: you can’t outrun your fears, whether they stem from within or from fractured relationships.

Molly’s airy delivery shifts from hard-edged intensity (“hard as flint”) to tender vulnerability (“soft as silk”), amplifying the emotional stakes. The lyrics echo this push-pull dynamic, touching on unfulfilled desires, broken promises, and the empowerment of self-liberation: lines like “Man, your love just doesn’t give me what I want / Going to have to save myself” and “You can’t run, but you can’t hide” capture the raw frustration and resolve of moving forward.

Ultimately, “Run” builds on Molly’s earlier releases (including tracks like “Rausgehen!” and “Take Her Where She Belongs”) while signaling bigger things ahead. In a landscape of polished pop, Molly’s “Run” stands out for its authenticity and artistic depth—an artwork as much as a song. Stream it now on Spotify and SoundCloud and witness an artist confronting the inescapable with unflinching honesty.

In a few sentences, Molly explains, “One of the first demos written on my own out of my camper van in Bristol, the song is a reminder that you can’t outrun your fears, and eventually the things you don’t look at will catch up on you. Whether it’s in relationship to yourself or other. At the end, what’s left is yourself.”

Rooted in both visual and performing arts, Molly’s creative identity has been shaped by a constantly shifting landscape — geographically, culturally, and artistically. Originally from a small village in Germany called Inning am Ammersee near Munich, Molly first unexpectedly found her voice — accidentally signed up for choir by her father. What began as an obligation evolved into a deeply personal practice.

At 19, Molly moved to Bristol for love and stayed to study art, immersing in the UK’s vibrant underground music scene, drawing inspiration from artists like Loyle Carner, Little Simz, Lava La Rue, and Biig Piig. Molly began writing songs in both English and German, eventually co-founding Dirty Spread Collective — a queer and FLINTA-led platform for experimental music and performance. Their early work, including a self-titled debut EP recorded while living in a van, was released independently with collaborators like Niki (Young Hoffi) and Bristol-based producers such as BIPED. A restless creative spirit led to Barcelona, where Molly completed a Master’s in Creative Performance Practice with a focus on musical theatre, expanding into contemporary dance.
