Melanie C Unveils Her First Ever Fitness DJ Mix for Wellness Month On Apple Music Featuring Unreleased Spice Girls Remixes

On January 17th, 2025, legendary Spice Girls member Melanie C (@melaniecmusic) teamed up with Apple Music and Apple Fitness+ to unveil her debut fitness DJ Mix, “Fitness: Gym, January 2025 (DJ Mix),” to coincide with Wellness Month.

Part of the Apple Music commissioned Fitness series, the solo artist has put together an exclusive gym mix containing unreleased Spice Girl edits and remixes to bring a high-energy tempo and the euphoria of the club to your workouts. Drawing from her fitness routine, Melanie has carefully structured the mix to mirror the progression of a run: starting with a gentler warm-up, transitioning into feel-good tunes to get you in the zone, and building to heavier beats with driving lyrics to power you through to the finish line. The tempo increases toward the end, delivering a final push for those challenging moments.

The mix includes two exclusive, unreleased Spice Girls remixes – a Tough Love mash-up of Soulsearcher’s “Feelin’ Love” and Spice Girls’ “Who Do You Think You Are,” and an Orbital remix of “Wannabe” mixed with Girls Don’t Sync’s “Come Thru.” Other artists featured in the mix include Sonny Fodera, Confidence Man, Nic Fanciulli, Sean Paul and a Tiesto remix of Melanie’s smash hit single “I Turn To You.” Whether you’re running, cycling, strength training, or dancing at the decks, this mix is crafted to keep you moving and inspired, and guaranteed to get pulses racing during the January detox.

Alongside the release of her first-ever dedicated fitness mix, Melanie has shared insights into why she felt now was the perfect time to create an exclusive fitness mix, the inspiration behind its theme, its energy-driven structure, and the types of fitness activities it complements best. She also offered a glimpse into her fitness routine, revealing what a typical “Sporty Spice” workout entails. Read on to discover her thoughts.

Melanie C

Best known as Sporty Spice, Melanie C has sold over 130 million records across her 25-year career and continues to thrive in her new chapter as an accomplished DJ. Her DJ journey began as an exciting evolution of her lifelong passion for music and has enjoyed a glittering career so far within the electronic dance music scene.

Her eclectic mixes seamlessly blend genres, showcasing her deep understanding of music and reinforcing her status as a true international musician in every sense.

Melanie C on her goal and theme with her mix…

Melanie C: I have had so much fun putting this mix together. Music is such a motivator for me when I’m working out both physically and mentally. Taking the energy and euphoria from the club to the gym or out on a run or ride is a game changer.

Melanie C on how the mix was structured in terms of energy…

Melanie C: I thought about how I feel while out on a run. I wanted to have a gentler start to warm up, get some real feel-good tunes in there to get you in the zone, and then ramp it up with some heavier beats and motivating lyrics. I’ve also pushed things up a little tempo-wise towards the end to give you that last push to cross the finish line!

Melanie C on her fitness routine and what activity she feels the mix is best suited for…

Melanie C: It’s definitely beast mode, I’ve trialed the mix when running, cycling, strength training and just having a dance at the decks tbh. Not the one for Yoga or Pilates, although it could make those activities more interesting!

Melanie C on how music plays a part in her workout regimen…

Melanie C: Music is massively important to my workout regimen, it gets me going if I’m not feeling it and keeps me going when it gets tough. It does in every area of my life, not just for working out.

Melanie C on the two tracks that she loves and why they had to be included in this mix…

Melanie C: Being a Spice Girl means I can have some fun with mixes, opening with Tough Love’s mashup of Soulsearcher’s “Feelin’ Love” and Spice Girls’ “Who Do You Think You Are” is the perfect uplifting opener for me. ESSEL, MERYLL ‘Move’ has also been one of my favorite tunes to play out in 2024, so it always gives me a little boost when it drops.
