Mathame Brings “Meet Me” to Life with Sold-Out No-Phone Shows in NYC and LA

Following the release of their new single “Meet Me,” Italian electronic duo Mathame (@mathame_) brought their signature EmoTech sound to the U.S. last weekend with two sold-out, last-minute no-phone shows in New York City and Los Angeles, redefining what it means to experience music in the moment.

The events, held on November 7 at 53 Scott Avenue in Brooklyn and on November 8 at Sound Los Angeles, traded visual spectacle for something raw and human. In an era where every moment is instantly captured, Mathame invited their audiences to disconnect: no filming, no social media – just presence. It was a deliberate nod to the roots of club culture, where connection, rhythm, and emotion come before documentation.

For a duo celebrated for their visually immersive performances — from cinematic 3D shows to architectural stage designs — this stripped-back approach was a striking contrast. Yet it only amplified the experience. With no screens separating them from the crowd, Mathame’s EmoTech sound resonated more directly than ever.

In their own words, Mathame explains, “Last weekend was something truly special — a journey that began from our roots, moved through the present, and looked ahead to what the music of tomorrow can be, emotional and technical together. Powerful, emotional, straight to the gut, heart, and the mind, and yet of the highest technical level. The vibe we felt seemed lost in the mists of memory, but it still exists — that electric atmosphere where everyone is in sync and thoughts flow as one collective body. The response from New York and Los Angeles was incredible, unforgettable.”

The shows also marked the celebration of Mathame’s long-anticipated new single “Meet Me,” released November 7 in collaboration with JONOS and Son of son. First premiered during Mathame’s Creamfields Argentina mainstage set and later featured in Anyma’s performance at the Great Pyramids of Egypt, the track has quickly become one of the duo’s most sought-after IDs of the year. Blending cinematic depth with driving, club-ready energy, “Meet Me” encapsulates Mathame’s evolving EmoTech sound – where electronic music meets emotion and human connection.

Mathame, the Italian brothers Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli, are pioneers of EmoTech – a movement where emotional storytelling meets futuristic sound and technology. Shaped by a background in classical music, hip-hop, and cinema, they create immersive productions that blend melodic techno with cinematic depth.

Their debut album MEMO introduced NEO, a monumental art project and narrative world representing a new ritual of sound and light. Its story unfolds through NEOLOGY, a parallel audiovisual show – a non-linear, anime-inspired film projected during their live performances. Together, NEO and NEOLOGY form a unified universe exploring the sacred, the futuristic, and the emotional.

With innovations like Old Neural Mixtape Vol.1 — an AI-powered project for Apple’s M1 chip that reimagined DJ mixing and evolved into a groundbreaking 3D live show — Mathame continues to blur the boundaries between music, technology, and immersive art. From their BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix of the Year to performances at Tomorrowland, Coachella, and Hï Ibiza, they stand as visionary storytellers.
