In her own words, Mahathi Malladi explains, “There’s a specific feeling that comes with uncertainty. The vulnerability and heartache that lives in the ‘in-between’ of ‘yes’ and ‘no.’ I wrote this song because that space can be so overwhelming. What do you do when someone won’t offer you that reassurance, or even tell you how they really feel? You write about it. Cause that space can be scary and make you feel anxious because you don’t know where you stand. This song is about owning those emotions, knowing it’s okay to fall hard and fast, but keeping yourself in check. It’s also about owning that uncertainty because you know you don’t deserve it. No games. No maybes. Just say it.”
