Mabes is a talented singer-songwriter and musician from Billericay, England. Not too long ago, she released a lovely EP, entitled, “Keeping the Noise Down”. The project feels like a statement, delivered with impeccable sincerity.

‘Keeping the Noise Down’ is led by its title track, which was co-written with Jonny Latimer (Ellie Goulding, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man). The four-track project deals with social anxiety amid some irresistible electronics. Bubbling with pop potential, Mabes’s wonderful delivery is born from a real-life event, a party gone awry amid rising consternation.

‘Stuck In the Rain’ is the second track on the EP and was co-written with Dan McDougall (Noel Gallagher). The song carries a whimsical tale of hope and endurance, a theme that feels more necessary and relevant in light of recent events, than ever before. Other tracks to complete the body of work include recent single, “Slow Drowning”. And the unreleased, “Might As Well”, which is an infectious mid-tempo slow-burner, featuring a breezy, anthemic chorus.

“I was the ‘new girl’ three times throughout my school years. And every time I started somewhere new, I thought ‘This will be the time I find my real friends.’ But no matter what, other kids my age were just very different to me. I questioned who I was, what I believed in, and wondered why no one else thought as deep about things as me. I couldn’t find that place where I was comfortable, or where I belonged. My friends were shallow and I couldn’t see the good in anything. The songs in ‘Keeping the Noise Down’ EP is a reflection of those times and how it was for me.” – Mabes

The collection of new songs are sonically elevated from Mabes’s 2019 debut mini-album, entitled, “Wait & See”. Although it still echoes the acoustic-country vibe that she is synonymous for. The body of work demonstrates the hotly tipped newcomer’s continued ability to craft heart-rending pop with an emotional sincerity beyond her years.

“Although it was a painful time, it’s actually shaped me to be a better, more understanding person in adulthood. For that, I’m glad. Now I’m on a mission to help people out there that feel like I did. ‘The new girl’ realize they’re not alone and that there’s quite a few of us that just want to keep the noise down.” – Mabes

Mabes’s effortless and instantly recognizable vocal has already amassed over 20 million global streams in 12 months. So far, she has also accumulated various plays across Radio 1 and a sold-out headline show under her belt.

Her forward-thinking and emotionally raw songwriting style has led to relatable, cutting-edge intelligent pop that marks her as a unique new artist. The Billericay-born star is an unforgettable force to be reckoned with, with her sights firmly set on owning 2020.
