Lily Lewis releases a playful pop tune, entitled, “VCR”

Lily Lewis is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Santa Barbara, California. Not too long ago, she released a playful pop tune, entitled, “VCR”.

Lily Lewis – “VCR” single

“Wait, don’t rip the tape. Babe, I’m not the type that’ll skip fast forward. I’ma hit pause ‘til I feel our moment. Wait, slow-mo the tape. We’re not in the scene kissing in your car. I don’t wanna play ya like a VCR.” – lyrics

‘VCR’ tells an interesting tale of a precautious young woman who decides to not hurry love with her significant other.

Apparently, she’s enjoying herself watching Pulp Fiction while her partner’s warm arms are seductively being wrapped around her body.

Even though she wants to entertain her new beau’s advances, she pushes the pause button because she feels they are not at the kissing scene in their movie.

Later, she suggests that they should take it slow and keep it flirty for now until they get to know each other a little better.

‘VCR’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and lush instrumentation scented with a commercial pop aroma.

“This song is written about not wanting to rush too fast into a new romance. I want to take my time with this new person, so it doesn’t get spoiled. It’s set in the first date, and I’m feeling confident in my decision to take things slow.” – Lily Lewis

While drawing from a place of intuition, Lily Lewis’ storytelling evokes a rawness and vulnerability which makes her accessible to all.

There’s no smoke and mirrors here, just pure relatability and an undeniable determination to reach the masses with her delicate and lyrical ingenuity.
