Kirstin Knight is an up-and-coming singer from Hannover, Germany. Not too long ago, she released her latest single, “Wings,” which captures the tumultuous ride of life. The song reflects a deep sense of introspection and self-discovery, highlighting the highs and lows that everyone experiences. The phrase “this life’s a wild ride” resonates with many, reminding us that embracing both joy and sorrow is essential to personal growth.
Kirstin Knight – “Wings” Single

Throughout the song, Knight expresses uncertainty, asking, “lately I’ve been questioning my situation.” This line serves as a reminder that it’s normal to feel lost at times, especially when we’re not where we thought we would be in our life’s design. The lyrics encourage listeners to embrace their journey and recognize that feeling lost is part of evolving into a better version of oneself.
One of the most powerful messages in “Wings” is the idea of trusting oneself. Knight sings, “I gotta trust my wings, fly fly.” This metaphor beautifully illustrates the importance of self-confidence and resilience. Regardless of life’s challenges, the call to “fly” stands as a testament to the strength we carry within. It is a reminder that despite past struggles and various iterations of ourselves, it’s crucial to believe in our potential to soar above adversities.
In her own words, Kirstin Knight explains, “This song is about learning to trust yourself again. Life has its ups and downs/highs and lows, and doesn’t always pan out the way you planned. It’s about keeping the faith that it’s all unfolding just how it’s meant to and keeping gratitude in your heart. It’s about survival, perseverance, and a fighter spirit. With no guarantees in life, we do our best and we trust ourselves that we will be ok no matter what happens. It’s also about self-compassion and self-love. An anthem everyone can relate to and sing along to.”

Knight has performed on television shows such as The Voice, The Eurovision, and Star for a Night with Jane Macdonald, appearing alongside Joss Stone and Alexandra Burke, to name a few. Her style is an eclectic blend of jazz, neo soul, blues, soul, and pop. Her writing style is acoustic and melodic.
Known as the ‘1 tek KK’ amongst peers as she always uses the first take of her recording performance and embraces the imperfection, Knight also freestyles 90 percent of her writing. “That’s where the magic is. Everyone strives for picture-perfect, but that’s the death of character and quirk,” she says. “I write from the soul and am free with whatever my heart wants to say. I don’t write to appeal to what others might want to hear, or what I think is hip and cool; I’m far from that…I’m just me.” Kirstin and her music and life partner Es Jai started Blue Butterfly Effect Records in 2021 and are excited to share what they’ve been working on.
