Kim Petras – “Icy” (Live Performance) Vevo session
“Never loved nobody harder. Never, ever felt stronger. Thought that we would last forever. Gave me something to believe in. Thought that you were all I needed. Look at me, I’m still breathing. I used to cry over you, baby, I’ve wasted all this time. Now I got an ice-cold heart. VVS’ is the only kinda ice I want. Kinda funny how the money can replace the love. So numb, I don’t feel it inside me. So dumb, I believed you really liked me. ‘Cause of you, now my heart is so icy.” – lyrics
Vevo provides a platform that highlights artists who are shaping the future of music. One of these artists is Kim Petras, who struggled with gender identity issues as a child, which subsequently led to her being bullied. Since then, Petras has “escaped reality via pop videos”, a self-preservation move that bolstered her love of the form.
‘Icy’ tells an emotional tale of a young woman who once shared a problematic relationship with her significant other. Apparently, she doesn’t hate her former lover for turning her heart into a glacier, too cold to care.
Check out Kim Petras’s video performance for her “Reminds Me” single to further understand why Vevo invited her to perform on their platform.

“One of my exes came to break me off, yeah. I mean, yeah, I fucked, but I ain’t nut at all, no. Whole-time you were on my mind, baby. I swear you got me f**kin’ love-crazy. Remember, when I said nothing phase me. Well, that was ’til I lost my baby, yeah. But I don’t wanna cry. Got my finger on the trigger, man, I’m thinking ’bout a homicide. I feel like I can die. Maybe, if it was all over, I can have you in another life.” – lyrics
‘Reminds Me’ tells a heartfelt tale of a young woman who struggles to get over her former lover after their emotional breakup. Apparently, her ex broke her heart, left her cold, and took her soul. Now, she thinks about a bunch of things that remind her of her ex—like certain songs, shows, places, friends, drinks, basically everything in her environment.
