Forrest Nolan releases a heartfelt pop tune, entitled, “MIA”

Forrest Nolan is an LA-based singer-songwriter from San Francisco, California. Not too long ago, he released a heartfelt pop tune, entitled, “MIA.”

Forrest Nolan – “MIA” single

“12 am, still haven’t texted me back. I got a real bad feeling things are falling off track. I got a scary intuition that the things that I lack have got your phone on silent. Let the screen turn black, pick up your phone, I wanna talk to ya. ‘Cause I’m all alone, can’t think straight. My heartbeat’s beating ‘cause I thought I knew ya.” – lyrics

‘MIA’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young guy who shares a problematic relationship with his significant other. Apparently, his girlfriend is always missing in action, and always doing and saying things that he doesn’t like. When he calls her phone, it oftentimes goes straight to voicemail. One day, she comes home wearing a brand-new sweater. Also, he smells mint on her breath, but it isn’t strong enough to cover up an unfamiliar scent. Later, the guy admits that he should’ve seen the red flags and signs that his girlfriend was cheating on him.

“You took a piece of me right from my heart.”

“I wrote this song with my buddy, Forrest, about being cheated on. Some of the lines are even direct quotes from the events leading up to the breakup and finding out about her cheating.” – Forrest Nolan explained

‘MIA’ contains a problematic relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and catchy melodies. The emotional breakup tune possesses guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with a lovely contemporary pop vibration. Furthermore, “MIA” serves as an appetizing taste of what’s to come from Forrest Nolan in the near future as he continues to release new music.

“I ripped up our pictures though memories remain, an accident unfortunate too hard to explain. Like all good things, they must come to an end. All I ask is next time don’t go off with a friend. I’m falling to pieces, broke like a bottle ‘cause we can’t just be friends. It’s a hard pill to swallow. Now all of your girlfriends just say that I’m shallow. But we can’t just reset, you’re a hard act to follow.” – lyrics
