FLØRE releases a heartfelt acoustic ballad, entitled, “Sugarcane”

FLØRE is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Germany. Not too long ago, she released a lyric video for her heartfelt acoustic ballad, entitled, “Sugarcane”.

FLØRE – “Sugarcane” lyric video

“You like the ocean but I am the sea. You like the river but I am the stream. You swam in the sunlight but I’m gonna own the night. You were the garden that I called mine. You saw in me someone I’m still tryna find. We are the moment and it’s time to kill the time. And when I die please take me home. Right into space where I belong. This life ain’t for everyone, no.” – lyrics

‘Sugarcane’ tells an emotional tale of a lonely young woman who imagines herself hanging with the stars in the Milky Way. Apparently, she’s sick of the sun; a moon lover who owns the night under the enchanting moonlight. While there, she loses track of time while entertaining thoughts living rent-free in the back of her mind.

‘Sugarcane’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-welcoming vocals, and heart-shaped melodies. Also, the sentimental tune possesses guitar-driven instrumentation scented with an acoustic pop aroma. Furthermore, “Sugarcane” serves as a fantastic presentation to what listeners can expect to hear on FLØRE’s upcoming debut EP, set to be released in Fall 2020.

“Is love just as dead as disco? Or am I a weirdo who can’t love right?”

“Sometimes the most beautiful things make you loneliest. I’ve never felt part of something in my life and I wished too many times I was one of those summer girls. Those who are always smiling—light, easy, and close to the sun. But I’m just not like that. Creating myself and writing songs gives me a place in this weird universe. They make me feel truly beautiful, special, and alive. But also lonely. ‘Sugarcane’ is the feeling of never being enough and at the same time being too much.” – FLØRE stated

Every so often, an artist emerges who has the ability to move fans emotionally by creating an unforgettable musical experience. In our opinion, FLØRE fits this description.

She spent her childhood playing guitar, singing and dreaming of the universe. Her songs are inspired by the dark and sadness of growing up, feeling alienated, and being too soft for this world. The moon lover expresses the loneliness in her songs that she produces mostly on her iPad, which create a deep atmosphere of falling into an empty ocean. Also, her touching voice tells stories about her own fragileness, devotion for unusual human beings, and broken love.

“I write songs to give this weird existence a meaning. I would call myself a moon lover, maybe ‘cause I felt like an alien for most of my life. And he makes me feel special somehow. That’s why I’m inspired by the darkness of growing up, the beautifully broken, and the feeling of what it must be like when your life begins. Or what it must be like when it ends. Or what it is at all.” – FLØRE

FLØRE - “Sugarcane” cover

“You are the poet while I am the pain. You are the sugar and I am the cane. You are everyone’s favorite saddest love song line, you taste like summer while I smell like rain. You love like July and dreaming of May. I’m just another lonely-looking June moon babe. But if I‘m honest, I should know. Yeah, oh Lord, please take me home. Love ain’t for everyone, no.” – lyrics
