The project was created at Icarus Moth’s home studio over the course of 3-4 years between other releases and plans. The EP title and phrase “Mutamelior” is Latin hodge-podge meaning “to change is for the better,” and it was intentionally coined to describe the artists’ shared sentiment in how their respective musical journeys and broader lives have evolved since they first came in contact.

Ehiorobo recalls listening back to the tracklist of songs found on the project and claims that they somehow happen to be organized on a scale from seemingly lacking hope to incredibly hopeful – hence, the run of performances around the release being titled “The Hope Gradient Tour.”
