Dom Jones (@iamdomjones) is an LA-based multi-talented R&B soul artist and songwriter from Oakland, California. Kasey Phillips (a founding member of Precision Productions) is an award-winning producer who recently worked on Ciara and Chris Brown’s Top 10 hit single, “How We Roll.” Not too long ago, they released a sultry R&B single, “Seventh Sense.”

Culture often connects the ‘sixth sense’ to the supernatural and to death, but the seventh sense is all about life. And how do you make life? You make love. “Seventh Sense” explores love as the ultimate force of life, eternal, powerful, and essential. Moving with slow, sensual vibes, anchored by hard-hitting drums, makes the soulful groove impossible to escape. Lyrics like, “No need for speed / We could go slow,” capture the song’s languid, intimate energy, making it a celebration of human connection and intimacy.
In her own words, Dom Jones confides, “I’m inspired by soulful artists such as Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield, Chaka Khan, Minnie Riperton, and wanted to tap into the timelessness of what they gave music, while relating to the current landscape of R&B. I chose orange as the color for this song to relate to the eternal ember that can burn when passion is ignited.” Overall, “Seventh Sense” is the entrance into a colorful landscape of sound, seduction, and sweeping sonics that will leave the listener breathless.”
Overall, “Seventh Sense” is the first track from Jones’ forthcoming EP “Dom Jones 2.0” and marks her 17th collaboration with Kasey Phillips, following an incredible year in which the two created over 100 songs together.
About Dom Jones
An alumna of Berklee College of Music, Dom Jones is an International Songwriting Competition Winner, a Songs for Social Change Competition Winner, a Boston Arts and Music Soul Festival featured performer, and a Hear Her Song composer in partnership with The Canales Project and Mercy Beyond Borders.
Jones was awarded the ASCAP Foundation Jay Gorney Award for emerging songwriters with music addressing social issues. Her work has been featured by The National Museum of Art, brands such as Nissan, and on platforms such as Netflix and Hulu. Jones’ mission is to ascend as an artist and music executive in tandem, helping to create the ecosystem for artists that she wants to see for herself.
