“‘Bad Intentions’ was a track written about a situation that went wrong. As most girls do, they throw themselves into relationships with good intentions, emotions flying high, they get caught up in the moment, leaving themselves wide open to get hurt if and when it goes wrong. I experienced this and thought – hang on a second, why can’t girls go into a relationship with a similar mindset to men? Which didn’t work for me. I remember going into a session speaking about what had happened and they said D let’s write about it…and within an hour we had the song!’ – Dionne Bromfield

‘Bad Intentions’ tells a passionate tale of a young woman who lusts for her significant other’s body, but she’s not in love with him. Apparently, he feels the same way she does, and that’s why they can’t keep their hands off each other. Later, she acknowledges that what they are doing isn’t right, but then again, it isn’t wrong either.

‘Bad Intentions’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses lush instrumentation flavored with contemporary R&B and neo-soul elements.

“No date nights. Just late nights for me and you. No feelings, just leave them outside this room. No hugging, just (Ah) is all we do. ‘Cause what we both need is temporary. I got bad intentions and you’ve got ’em too. We know what we’re getting when it’s me and you. You got me thinkin’ things that I should never do. All these bad intentions need to go to use.” – lyrics

‘Bad Intentions’ serves as a fantastic return for an artist who is projected to have a memorable 2020.
