Longtime collaborators turned official Montreal duo under the 4PM collective, Dayside (@daysideee) and Guffchild (@guffchild) have gained momentum since releasing their first joint single last year. Known for their ability to merge eclectic sounds and talents, Dayside and Guffchild continue to explore new sonic territories while staying true to their roots. Not too long ago, they shared an infectious disco-dance single, “Daddy’s Girl,” featuring Mosez Jones & Pope Silk via 4PM/Velours Records.

“Daddy’s Girl” combines smooth pop-inspired melodies, yacht rock production, and fellow Montreal-based hip-hop artist Mosez Jones’ rhythmic rapping. Its sound is vibrant and groovy, yet beneath the upbeat and funky surface lies a dark, introspective narrative that polarizes the listener.
The song seamlessly blends elements of alternative R&B with rich instrumentation and layered production, a hallmark of Dayside and Guffchild’s genre-bending style. “Daddy’s Girl” also highlights their ability to craft tracks that are simultaneously catchy, introspective, and timeless, creating a fresh sound for alternative R&B lovers.
In his own words, Dayside explains, “‘Daddy’s Girl’ was an experiment in contrasts. The sound is fun, but the story it tells is anything but. That push-and-pull is what makes it stick.”
