Stepping onto this type of beat was like going to the gym: exercising my diversity as an artist. I’m always focused on what’s next. The title has layers. Green is my favorite color, but looking back, the irony of the ‘bad apple’ metaphor makes it all tie together. Midnight slime represents other women waiting in line to replace the one who is taking me for granted—like a warning to stay on your game.
