Alté trailblazer Boj (@bojonthemicrophone) makes a powerful return with a double single and the announcement of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, “Duplicity,” set for release on December 5, 2025. Setting the tone for this next chapter, Boj unveils two new tracks: “Shana,” featuring Nigerian rap collective Show Dem Camp and Ghanaian hip-hop star Joey B, and “After Hours,” featuring rising French-Gabonese singer Anaïs Cardot.
Boj & Anaïs Cardot – “After Hours”

“After Hours” marks Boj’s entry into his loverboy era, featuring a tender back-and-forth with Anaïs Cardot. Her soft tones and seductive lyrics perfectly complement Boj’s laid-back charm. The track was produced by long-time collaborator Genio, the sonic visionary behind some of Boj’s most iconic records, including “Abracadabra” featuring Davido and Mr Eazi, and “Your Love” featuring Tiwa Savage.

“Shana” is a seamless fusion of Alté, Afrobeats, and hip-hop, brimming with confidence and designed for global dancefloors, produced by Spax — the creative architect behind Boj and AjeButter22’s hit single “Tungba.” The single marks Boj’s reunion with close friends and collaborators Show Dem Camp, which they previewed during their recent shared performance at London’s Palmwine Festival at The Outernet. “Shana” also rekindles his chemistry with Joey B after their acclaimed 2019 collaboration “No Waste Time.”

The forthcoming album “Duplicity” is underpinned by the maverick electronica-meets-afrobeats production of Genio; these new singles offer a glimpse into the evolving soundscape of “Duplicity,” reaffirming Boj’s singular ability to create forward-thinking global hits rooted in his Alté identity.
About Boj

Born in London and raised between the UK and Nigeria, Boj’s work embodies a fluid, borderless sound that has positioned him at the forefront of contemporary African music. Boj’s creative journey has been one of constant reinvention and boundary-pushing. Following his breakout “BOTM” and 2017’s “Magic,” which featured collaborations with legends like Wande Coal, Olamide, and Simi, he teamed up with close friend AjeButter22 for 2018’s “Make E No Cause Fight,” a landmark EP that birthed the modern classic “Tungba.”
Working alongside producer Spax, Boj helped define what the world now knows as the Alté sound. Released across two volumes between 2022 and 2023, “Gbagada Express” became a defining moment in his career. The star-studded project, featuring Wizkid, Davido, Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, BNXN, Victony, and UK talents Enny and Knucks, received widespread acclaim. It earned an AIM nomination for Best Album, was named Album of the Year by The Guardian UK, and won the Headie Award for Best Alté Album, cementing Boj’s status as one of Africa’s most influential musical innovators.
Building on that success, Boj delivered a standout feature on Dave’s platinum-certified “We’re All Alone In This Together” and made his UK live debut with a sold-out headline show at Village Underground, joined by special guests Enny and Wizkid. Never one to rest, Boj closed out 2023 with another installment of “Make E No Cause Fight,” then returned to the studio to record “12 Summers,” a reflective yet celebratory project marking twelve years at the forefront of the Alté movement.
The critically acclaimed “12 Summers,” which included hits “Jabo” featuring Odumodublvck and “Love Garden” featuring Adekunle Gold, showcased Boj’s versatility and tastemaker credentials, also featuring new-generation collaborators like UK rappers Blanco and Sainte. Celebrated not only as a hitmaker but as an “artist’s artist,” Boj continues to shape culture as much as he contributes to it.
