Birthh releases a music video for her “Supermarkets” single

Birthh (Alice Bisi) is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter and producer from Italy. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “Supermarkets” single, featured on her upcoming second studio album.

“I like that the first thing people hear is the line ‘people are just people, they don’t know what they’re after.’ It’s true. We don’t. Also, I like the imagery of routine and how we rely on it to reveal existential stuff in life. Humans have a hard time just stopping and thinking about what’s happening in our lives.” – Birthh

The audiovisual, filmed and edited by Birthh, was videoed in Italy between Genoa and Birthh’s hometown Vaiano.

Birthh demoed “Supermarkets” in her makeshift bedroom studio. Shortly afterward, she completed it with Solange collaborator Lucius Page, Grammy-winning Robert ‘LB’ Dorsey, and Grammy-winning Emily Lazar (David Bowie, The Killers, Goldfrapp).

Birthh is a name you should remember. Her father (a former musician) taught her how to enjoy the little things in the music (e.g., focus on the guitar/or piano).

Since then, her songs collectively have amassed over a million streams online via Spotify.

Also, she has played shows and festivals alongside the likes of PJ Harvey, MacDeMarco, Andrew Bird, Benjamin Clementine, Nick Murphy, and Imagine Dragons.

‘Supermarkets’ contains a relatable storyline and pleasing vocals. Also, the likable tune possesses laidback instrumentation embedded with jazz grooves and an undercurrent of glitchy electronica.

We recommend adding her “Supermarkets” single to your personal playlist. Also, let us know how you feel about it in the comment section below.
