Bahamas (Afie Jurvanen) is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Toronto, Canada. Not too long ago, he released a music video for “No Depression”, a charming neo-blues pop tune from his “Earthtones” album.
Bahamas – “No Depression”

“My wife don’t want no part of me and yes that fact is hard on me. That’s true. I give the doctor a description and he just writes a prescription or two. Peace and quiet were here before but they both walked out the door and left me with depression.” – lyrics
The ‘No Depression’ song tells a gloomy tale of a guy who’s dealing with depression. His wife doesn’t want to be with him anymore, therefore, he sings the blues. Her absence has him feeling miserable. So he goes to the doctor for treatment.
But the medical evaluation isn’t the answer to his depression. His only cure is thinking positive. Therefore, he stops putting himself down and finally sees the light at the end of his tunnel.
‘No Depression’ contains a relatable storyline, pop vocals, and a bubbly instrumentation flavored with a commercial pop taste.
