Following the buzzworthy release of her single “Single For Life,” which has already earned more than 2 million streams, pop artist and multi-instrumentalist Ava Della Pietra is offering a new perspective with the release of an acoustic version – a stripped-down take on the track that first turned heads for its wit, relatability, and undeniable pop punch. The acoustic version trades the glossy pop production of the original for delicate finger‑picked guitar and a stripped‑back vocal performance, underscoring the vulnerability at the heart of the song.

“Single For Life (Acoustic)” captures the essence of friendship in times of change. The lyrics evoke a sense of nostalgia as Ava Della Pietra reflects on deep conversations with a close friend about their single status. The connection between friends is highlighted, specifically the comfort derived from shared experiences and dreams about love.
The lyrics poignantly express the irony of supporting a friend’s new relationship while feeling a tinge of loneliness. Lines like, “I’ll be happy for you, but why’d he have to be so god damn cute?” illustrate the internal struggle of wanting the best for someone while grappling with personal feelings of longing. Ava’s playful tone shows a mix of joy and jealousy, a sentiment many can relate to.
Despite this emotional conflict, “Single For Life (Acoustic)” is ultimately a celebration of the bond between two friends. The references to their shared dreams and laughter about their singlehood create a whimsical backdrop. The line, “I miss the nights we’d talk about guys and how we’re gonna both be single for life,” highlights the camaraderie and the joy of being adventurous together while navigating the uncharted waters of love.
Ultimately, “Single For Life (Acoustic)” is a stripped-back version that trades glossy pop for finger-picked intimacy, revealing the emotional core of a friendship breakup with vulnerability, clarity, and heart. The song resonates powerfully with anyone who has ever navigated the complexities of friendship and love. It’s not just a catchy tune; it’s a heartfelt reminder of the nuances of relationships and the bittersweet nature of watching friends fall in love.
“Single for Life” (Original)

Released earlier this summer, the original track quickly became a fan favorite – praised for its clever lyricism, bold production, and perfectly executed concept. The song playfully explores that universal moment when your best friend gets into a relationship and everything shifts: “It’s about that moment when your best friend falls in love, and suddenly it’s not just the two of you anymore,” Ava shares. “You swore you’d be single for life together, but now you’re the third wheel. It’s funny, it’s a little sad—and it’s totally real.”

About Ava Della Pietra
In her own words, Ava explains, “Songs tend to come to me when I am outside taking a walk or enjoying nature. I will sing a verse and a chorus into my phone, and then when I get back inside, I write it all down and put chords to it on either the ukulele, piano, or guitar.”
Ava connected with producer Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Jamie Lawson, Beyoncé) and had the amazing opportunity to work with him in the UK. The results were three songs Ava’s listeners have embraced: Optimist (which reached #50 on the Top 40 radio chart), Christmas Tonight, and Home – a song about the border crisis.
As she continues down the road of her musical career, Ava is once again setting her sights high, working with Hicks as well as producers Jon Levine, Steven Martinez, and Adrian Gurvitz (Andra Day, Ziggy Marley). Ava has written over 130 songs, 32 while quarantining with her family on Long Island. “My creativity was really flowing; all my emotions manifested themselves into new lyrics.” Alec Benjamin is one of Ava’s main influences, along with Lauv, Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, OneRepublic, Jonas Brothers, Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez, Maroon 5, and Ed Sheeran.
