Airyen Vay is an LA-based singer-songwriter from Botosani, a small town in the northern part of Romania. Not too long ago, she performed her “Breathe” single LIVE on a spacious rooftop in Los Angeles, California. Viewers are gifted with an enticing glimpse of the city in the background.
Airyen Vay – “Breathe” video performance
“I wrote the chorus of this song two years ago in the middle of a panic attack. I was by myself and I didn’t know what to do so I started singing just to calm down. The inspiration for the verses came by the beginning of this year and this is how the song was born.” – Airyen Vay explained
The Kristopher Manga-directed video finds Airyen Vay performing alongside musicians – Samantha Aurelio (piano), Mani (strings), Fer Fuentes (drums), and Christine Meisenhelter (bass). The performance follows mildly on the heels of Airyen’s previously released remix single, “Breathe (Dj Yaang Remix),” produced by well-known Romanian radio producer, DJ Yaang (of Kiss-FM).
Airyen Vay discovered her passion for music at the age of nine. During that time, she started taking vocal lessons and learned how to play the piano, flute, and guitar. As a child, she has been to numerous song contests and won most of the competitions.
By using a slow piano on top of an upbeat tempo, all shaped in a romantic light, her music makes you feel liberated. Also, it drives listeners into a world where they can become anything they want to be. Throughout her music, Airyen expresses the inside power of a human being, standing out for love, equality, human rights, freedom, and togetherness.
“We go higher & higher until we find the air we need.”
